Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) Feb 2010

Developed by the National Apartment Association (NAA),the Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) course offers the highest standard of professional training to enhance the skills of the apartment community supplier, resulting in individuals with increased professionalism and an improved knowledge of the needs of todays apartment community managers and supervisors. This designation course requires suppliers to take the Management of Residential Issues, Risk Management, Financial Management, and one elective module from the CAM course.
CAM runs for nine weeks Monday and Wednesday evenings 4:00 to 7:00pm. Below is a tentative module schedule.
Required Modules for CAS
March 1 & 3 Mgmt. of Residential Issues with Mary Wessler, ConAm
This class will cover the information community managers need to be successful in the following areas: Customer service, occupancy management, security, emergency management and resident relations.
March 29 & 21 Risk Management with Donna Lynch, IMA of Colorado
This class is designed to help the community manager realize the importance of managing potential risks. This class will give important information on the following topics: Minimizing risks to residents, minimizing risks to staff, handling emergencies, liability and insurance.
April 19, 20 & 21 Financial Management with Ken Greene, Apartment Realty Advisors
Reviewing the budget is an everyday occurrence in the life of a community manager. This class will drill down deeper into the financial aspect of managing an asset and will give valuable insight on the following topics: Investments, adding value to the investments, mathematics review, financial statements, budgets and property valuation.
