June Awards 2008

The 2007-2008 AAMD Board of Directors, lead by President Sharon Ingram had a lot to celebrate at this year’s June Awards event, at the Seawell Ballroom in the Denver Performing Arts Center. Mark Williams, Executive Vice President of AAMD remarked “never in the 40 year history of the AAMD has this organization accomplished so much…”
From an Education perspective, never has AAMD trained so many members at seminars and events. From a Legislative perspective, never has the Association fought so hard for our industry; and never have we enjoyed so many victories when the risks were so high. From a networking & information perspective, never has AAMD had such impressive attendance. Nearly all of the events this year had recording breaking crowds of owner and supplier members.
“Beyond our success, the Association this past year has never experienced such intense analysis and such internal reflection,” Williams went on to describe… “With all of our challenging moments… all the blood, sweat and tears… after all of our internal stress —we as an association, have triumphed!” When the stakes were at their highest this year, AAMD demonstrated its greatest value and strength for its members.
President Sharon Ingram shared the same gratitude announcing her special President’s Award winners: Andrew Hamrick, Bob Alldredge, Dan Levin, Jim Billings, Joe Schneckenburger, Mark Tschetter and Terry Simone for their monumental work and tough negotiations on the landlord tenant bill this year. President Ingram thanked the entire board and committee chairs for all of their outstanding efforts which produced perhaps the greatest year in the Association’s 40 year history.
Presenting Sponsors, Redi Carpet and For Rent Media Solutions were represented by John Hagan and Nancy Giardini. From the stage, in a press-conference format, Hagan and Giardini “roasted” President Ingram and her “administration” with some political satire and made-up scandals, but in the end, after all fun – Ingram “set the record straight” recognizing and honoring all the volunteers who helped to achieve so much for AAMD this past year.
