The Best Way to Invest in Yourself and Your Team
National Credentials Follow You Everywhere
The AAMD's award-winning Education department offers the following National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) designations to further enhance your career.
Certified Apartment Manager (CAM)
The CAM Program is designed to enhance the skills of the apartment manager, resulting in better managed more profitable rental properties, improved resident retention rates, and increased employee productivity. Programs may be taken as stand-alone seminars or in full to earn the industry designation.
CAM is offered twice a year (Spring and Fall)
Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT)
Maintenance expenses are the single largest controllable element in any operating budget. This course is designed as an introduction for new maintenance professionals or as a refresher for the veteran employee, to give these professionals the knowledge and tools necessary to run an effective maintenance program. Programs may be taken as stand-alone seminars.
CAMT is offered twice a year (Spring and Fall)
Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP)
Leasing professionals are the first people prospective residents meet and are responsible for generating traffic, conducting leasing demonstrations, overcoming objections and qualifying prospective residents. This program teaches all these skills and more.
CALP is offered once a year.
Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS)
Take the next step in your professional development and become a certified success by earning your Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation. NAAEI’s CAPS program is an in-depth review of property management principles and techniques as used by the professional supervisor.
CAPS is offered once a year.

CAPS Direct allows you to earn your CAPS credential without completing the CAPS coursework, provided you fulfill the following criteria. CAPS Direct is also available to former CAPS credential holders who have allowed their credential to lapse for more than five years.
To qualify for CAPS Direct, candidates must meet two of the following three criteria:
