Paul Noveshansky Award

Presented to: Lisa Jefferies, Zocalo Community Development

One of the evening’s most meaningful recognitions, the Paul Noveshansky Award, honors the memory of an extraordinary leader, friend, and cornerstone of our Association. For over 30 years, Paul embodied the very best of AAMD—serving on the Board of Directors, chairing numerous committees, and passionately advocating for our industry, all without seeking recognition. His glowing smile, tireless energy, and humble leadership left a legacy that continues to inspire.

This year’s recipient, Lisa Jefferies, carries that legacy forward. Lisa’s impact on the Association is felt across every level—from her consistent committee involvement to her valued service as a Board member. She leads with integrity, vision, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of our members and the health of our industry. Like Paul, Lisa does this work not for accolades, but because she believes in building something bigger than herself.

Congratulations, Lisa, and thank you for continuing Paul’s legacy of servant leadership and lasting impact.

Jack Luscombe Paying It Forward Award

Presented to: Sarah Edison, Evolutionary Capital Improvements

This award pays tribute to Jack Luscombe—affectionately known as “Jack the Roofer”—whose giving spirit and generosity made a lasting impression on AAMD and the community. Jack’s selfless acts, including donating his Trade Show booth and delivering fresh fish to local food banks, symbolized his dedication to lifting others up.

This year’s recipient, Sarah Edison, has demonstrated that same spirit of generosity. As Chair of the AAMD Holiday Charity Auction, Sarah helped lead a sold-out event that raised over $40,000. She also volunteers for Apartments Giving Back Day and leads key workforce development initiatives—especially through Junior Achievement—helping inspire the next generation of industry professionals. Her efforts to bridge our industry with nonprofits and community organizations are bringing new talent and opportunity into multifamily.

Thank you, Sarah, for leading with heart and making a difference far beyond the workplace.

Ambassador of the Year

Presented to: Amy Weber, Western Skies Exteriors

AAMD Ambassadors are at the front lines of member engagement—welcoming, supporting, and ensuring members remain connected and informed. Each year, we recognize one Ambassador whose dedication and energy truly stand out.

We’re proud to honor Amy Weber as our 2024–2025 Ambassador of the Year. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and uplifting spirit embody what it means to be an AAMD Ambassador. Her consistent presence and support of fellow members make her an invaluable part of our community.

Congratulations, Amy!

Defender of Housing Awards

Recognizing Legislative Advocacy Champions

This past year brought unprecedented legislative challenges. With over 30 proposed bills impacting rental housing—and 20 of them deemed harmful—AAMD members stepped up to protect our industry.

The Defender of Housing Award honors those who went above and beyond in their advocacy: testifying before legislative committees, participating in federal Hill Visits, supporting litigation efforts, and serving on stakeholder task forces. Thanks to their efforts, we successfully blocked or amended 17 harmful bills—an incredible achievement and testament to the power of member advocacy.

Congratulations to the 2025  Defenders of Housing: Brett Frank, Erica Sanchez, Parke Pettegrew, Pete Muccio, Rocky Sundling, Ryan Rogers, Sabrina Zunker, Stephanie Glowczewski, Taylor Mueller, Teo Nicolais, Terry Simone, and TJ Beaver!

Thank you all for standing strong for housing and for our future!

Susan Lind Learning & Development Excellence Award

Education is a pillar of the AAMD mission, and this award honors those who go above and beyond to share knowledge and uplift others in our industry.

We’re thrilled to recognize Byron O’Bayley as the 2025 Susan Lind Learning & Development Award winner.
