Looking Back, Leading Forward
A reflection on a year of service, progress, and the strength of the AAMD community

As my term as President comes to a close, I reflect with deep gratitude and immense pride. What stands out most is not a single speech, event, or challenge, but the collective strength of this association and the people who continue to move it forward. Serving as President of AAMD has been a true honor—and a powerful reminder of what makes this industry so remarkable: dedicated professionals, a shared sense of purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve.
“Elevate” did more than set a theme—it set a standard. It inspired us, aligned us, and propelled our momentum throughout the year.
As an association representing more than 345,941 apartment homes, 2,361 communities, 460 owner and management companies, and 642 supplier partners, AAMD’s reach is significant—but the true impact lies in the people behind it. Together, this community has remained focused on advancing professional growth, strengthening meaningful connections, and championing an industry that provides housing for hundreds of thousands of people across Metro Denver.
This year brought no shortage of complexity. Market pressures, evolving policy discussions, and regulatory changes continued to shape the multifamily landscape. Yet, the progress we achieved was a true collective effort—guided by board leaders who provided clear direction, powered by volunteers who gave generously of their time, strengthened by engaged members, and delivered by staff whose steady leadership turned vision into action.
Together, these contributions did more than sustain our momentum—they accelerated it, positioning the association for continued strength and greater impact in the years ahead.
As this chapter closes, there is every reason for optimism about what comes next. AAMD is well-positioned to continue elevating its impact—through advocacy that protects our industry, education that strengthens our professionals, and a culture that connects and supports members across every corner of multifamily housing.
Above all, this past year has reinforced what is possible when we lead together. It has been a true privilege to serve, to celebrate this industry, and to witness the momentum driven by a community that consistently shows up with passion, excellence, and purpose.
I leave this role with profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve, deep respect for the people who define AAMD’s strength, and great confidence in the future we have helped shape.
