M.I.N.D Mentees Gain Insight Through Legislative Discussion

Last month, the M.I.N.D. Program hosted its annual Legislative Panel, bringing together five legislators from Denver for an engaging and impactful discussion with the program’s mentors and mentees. The event provided participants with a unique opportunity to connect directly with their state legislators.
Throughout the panel, legislators discussed key issues affecting the industry and their communities, including affordability, evictions, tenant protections, and legislative priorities. The conversations highlighted the importance of meeting with legislators, providing feedback on new laws, and understanding the impact of advocacy at the state level.
Following the legislative discussion, mentors and mentees participated in a panel with industry professionals who shared insights on compliance with new legislation and best business practices. The session encouraged open dialogue and practical learning, leaving attendees feeling informed, empowered, and inspired to deepen their engagement with AAMD, the Colorado Legislature, and the industry while continuing to grow in their careers.
