Raising Money For Breast Cancer Research During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

One of out every eight women in the United States will likely develop breast cancer, according to research from the American Cancer Society. This alarming number of diagnoses is growing as incidence rates in recent years have increased by 0.5% per year.

bc_logioIn honor of those who have survived or passed away from breast cancer, Legacy Partners’ Denver-based development and property management teams raised $3,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation in recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Legcyp_logoWhat started as a $1,000 company donation turned into an office-wide rally to wear pink on Friday, October 22. As a surprise to the employees, the company donated an additional $25 for every picture posted internally by the employees, bringing the donation total to $1,500.

Only a few days later did the company’s executive team of Preston Butcher, Guy Hays, and Dean Henry match 100 percent of the donations — a $3,000 total company donation to help fund breast cancer support services and education.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation does important work in our communities, and Legacy Partners is honored to play a small role in helping them serve and support women in Denver and throughout the country.
