Elevate Your Success

By Terri Norvell, 2018 Education Conference & Trade Show Speaker

The skills that got you to where you are today will not be the skills that get you to where you want to go. This is true no matter how you define your current level of success, from reaching for a promotion, maximizing your budget, building your team beyond its greatest expectations, or creating more peace of mind and joy in your life.

Ask yourself this: What’s a desire or goal I’ve been putting off? What’s a frustration I’m not dealing with? Where am I holding myself back?

Awareness is always the first step. Then comes action. If however, you keep experiencing desires or frustrations there’s a good chance you’re not taking action. Perhaps you feel scared to take the step because it feels risky. Or you feel vulnerable and uncertain of the outcome.

Elevating your current level of success requires looking at your current reality and then making different choices.
As Giovani says, “no change, no change”. Good news…this is within your control. Here is one simple strategy that will get
you started.

Notice Your Thoughts

It starts in the head. We are each continually talking to ourselves throughout the day. It’s true. Right now it’s that voice that either agreed or disagreed with that last comment. What do you most often notice when you pay attention to your thoughts or the voices in your head?

There’s a good chance that you may notice more negative thoughts than positive, supportive thoughts. On average,
human beings are reported to have a 2/3 negative to 1/3 positive thought streams going on. This lines up with the dictionary. Upon analysis, the ratio of negative to positive words is exactly the same. One analysis even documented that we each may have over 4 million negative thoughts per month. That’s extreme!

In the book, Positive Intelligence by Shirzad Chamine you can learn about the 10 different voices that are most frequent in our heads. If you want to take a quick assessment to identify yours go to www.PositiveIntelligence.com and scroll to the bottom of the homepage. It’s free.

You’ll learn that we each have a voice of The Judge along with a few others. This awareness can be very beneficial for your immediate and ongoing success.
